Welcome back for the second round of Favorite Things! I have always kept a running list of products and books and music that I find interesting or awesome and now I finally have a place to share my recommendations plus a few of my own wish list items.
I’m an Amazon Associate, which means I earn a few cents of every dollar you spend at Amazon…as long as you go through one of my links. Even if you don’t need anything I recommend, I will make a few cents every single time you come through here first. The next step in my plan for total world domination is a podcast, and those microphones are NOT cheap, so your help really matters here. If you do any Amazon shopping at all, you can access their whole site through mine and you’ll be participating in making my dream of making a living writing and speaking about light and life and goodness and love and the Kingdom of God already within us. What could be better?
I haven’t read this yet, but my friend Marcie recommended it and everybody who knows Marcie just does what she says because she is always right.
“In this groundbreaking walk through Scripture, former physician and carpenter Dr. Matthew Sleeth makes the convincing case why trees are essential to every Christian's understanding of God.”
Sounds legit, right?
My friend Angie dropped this book on my doorstep and I read it in 24 hours. It’s exactly what this barely millenial, almost ex-evangelical, post 2016 soul needed. Highly recommend.
For the Kids
Shampoo, body wash, bubble bath, lavender. Who could ask for more? P.S. we all use this instead of Dove Sensitive bars now.
Ok, maybe this conditioner isn’t expressly for kids but my kid with long hair loves it. Detangles well, smells great, cleaner than average ingredients.
I started using this mask two or three times a week about two months ago and my pores are noticeably smaller AND the blackheads I’ve had since seventh grade are gone. I would not lie to you. This is a fantastic product.
I bought a sample of these natural whitening strips at our little neighborhood hippie mart and I saw a noticeable difference in one use with no sensitivity. They are pricey and I haven’t sprung for the full box but I have a hunch a dozen or so of these would restore the luster of my pre-caffeine addiction youth. If you do order them, please let me know what you think of them!
Excuse me, but this deodorant is the business. Favorite of all time ever, and my skin is sensitive.
This is THE LIPSTICK you’ve seen me wearing in my Instagram stories lately. It doesn’t dry my lips out and it lasts like 16 hours, easy. I really want to try Perpetual Plum next, as recommended by Julia my favorite lifetstyle blogger of the century.
These next two are in my cart right now waiting on payday because #teacherlife. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I really think these are going to replace that Paris Instagram filter I’ve come to rely on because #momlife.
Everyone needs two of these. They are the same size as your oven rack and can bake around 24 cookies each or like 5 lbs of veggies. I am in a cookie mood today, thanks for asking.
Please love yourself first and use parchment paper every time you use your oven. If you don’t love yourself, how can you love anyone else as you love yourself? Buy the parchment paper, don’t wash the dishes.
For the Home
I know neutral on neutral buffalo check ain’t everyone’s cuppa tea, but it is for dang sure mine. I like my interiors like I like my friends, a little older than me and chill enough to form a nice quiet backdrop so my personality and good looks can really shine.
Have you ever noticed the giant wall of botanicals in my den? That whole idea was inspired by Emily. I had this book chopped apart at a local printing shop and bought cheap frames at the Hobby Lobby. It’s my favorite thing.
Don’t you dare hang up all those botanicals with nails like some kind of pilgrim. Use these. Actually, always use these.
That’s it for today. Thank you so much for being here with me and for reading. Every little bit of support you send my way is pushing me onward and I am so very grateful. You guys are seriously the best part of all of this and I mean that. See you back on the blog this Friday, dear friends.
